  • The Automated Driving Advanced Development team is actively searching for AD Components Mechanical Development Engineer. As the owner of the Packaging Requirements, you will develop and maintain expertise needed to manage ADAS/AD features, you will be responsible for defining the packaging requirements and in-plant calibration procedure. You will also interact closely with a variety of engineering domains in order to be aligned to the requirements necessary to integrate ADAS/AD components into prototype and production vehicles. We are looking for a self-starter with good engineering judgement, a solid background in AD/ADAS systems, and the curiosity/motivation to learn as the technology progresses. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Release of technical detailed documentation and requirements for packaging constraints
  • Evaluation of technical proposals from components’ suppliers
  • Manage discussion during Packaging phase between internal stakeholders and Supplier
  • Support in the management of the component development plan for Packaging and In Plant calibration procedure
  • To manage CAD model for ADAS/AD components and support internal and external stakeholders in managing CAD models and installation studies
  • Perform and/or support in House Testing and Evaluation (ex. Radome/Glare Shield Evaluation)
  • Release of technical detailed documentation and requirements for in-plant calibration procedure
  • Support In Plant Calibration Station set up
  • Assist with setting architectural design direction enabling scalability and optimization of smart sensing vs. satellite sensing/object level data vs. data in raw forms

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering required
  • 3+ years of related experience required
  • Automotive basic engineering knowledge (electrical / electronics components, schematics, pcb engineering rules, etc.)
  • Understanding of design and release of automotive components
  • TeamCenter experience
  • Experience in the packaging of ADAS/AD sensors in production or development vehicles
  • Experience in the definition of in-plant Calibration procedure for ADAS/AD sensors in production or development vehicles.
  • Organization and follow-through
  • Excellent ability to work in a team and within a complex organization
  • High sense of independence and self-responsibility
  • Good spoken and written knowledge of English language
  • Knowledge of system requirements engineering required for automated driving inclusive of most of the following:
  • o EE architecture topologies
  • o System functional partitioning
  • o Interfaces
  • o Failure analysis
  • o Data collection / simulation
  • o HIL/SIL techniques
  • Knowledge of environmental sensing/machine vision technologies required for ADAS and Automated Driving systems
  • Basic technical knowledge about the automotive development process
  • Basic knowledge about electrical/electronic systems for Automotive (CAN/LIN networks, E/E architectures, functional safety analysis – ISO 26262 norm, etc.)
  • Knowledge of tools for vehicle data analysis and logging (Canalyzer, CANAPE, ADTF…)
  • Knowledge of robust design techniques (FMEA, Design for Six Sigma)
  • Experience of Project management
  • Experience in generating statement of work/scope documentation or responding to request for quotes
  • Excellent in problem solving
  • Notes: Position is remote but candidates must be local. Occasional travel to CTC required. Some travel to Mexico may be required at a later date.
