Description
- The Infotainment Design Release Engineer is responsible for development, test and delivery of state-of-the-art audio and infotainment features. The Design Release Engineer will also be responsible but not limited to:
- Managing the integration of an infotainment system into specific vehicles.
- Supplier management for hardware and software releases as per the vehicle timeline.
- Heavy focus on implementation of quality improvements to the infotainment system.
- o This will include quality analysis of issues, leading supplier engagement, visit to customer vehicles to dive deeper into issues, and drive closure of open issues and validate software fixes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical, computer, computer networking & security, electronics & information security, computer program & system analysis, or computer science or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university.
- Knowledge of infotainment systems and features
- Understanding of vehicle system engineering
- Understanding with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) & Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
- Self-motivated with excellent program management and communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google suite of applications
- The role requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail.
- The role will suit an Engineer who has the ability to quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineers with the cross functional team.
- Master’s degree in electrical, computer, computer networking & security, electronics & information security, computer program & system analysis, or computer science or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university.
- Lead design verification of infotainment features
- Experience with Infotainment Systems: Bluetooth, Hands-Free Phone, AM/FM radio, Navigation, Audio Media and Infotainment HMI features
- Experience in analog/digital audio or telematics hardware/software implementation.
- Knowledge of vehicle networks and diagnosis tools
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 20% international travel
- Additional Information/ Must Have's:
- Self starter with ability to understand project needs, develop a plan, and complete the plan on time.
- Automotive infotainment or automotive quality experience
- Ability to lead cross functional teams and automotive
- 1-3 years (1 year as long as they equivalent experience)
- Onsite/ Remote Hybrid - mostly remote but onsite could be possible
- Travel - 10% - either to CTC or to supplier office in Novi, MI (for remote contractor)
