Description
- Description: The Powertrain Design Release Engineer will work closely with designers, CAE groups, suppliers and manufacturing to design components and systems to ensure designs are robust for function and manufacturing. Scope of responsibility includes product design from concept to launch, components/system packaging, releasing 2D drawing and 3D models, performance specifications and production product issue resolution. Creating and maintaining the DFMEA and DVP as well as conducting center of excellence reviews for design robustness. The engineer will be involved with current production components in addition to future development projects.

driving to meetings in the Detroit area (pick up parts, look at
parts, etc). State on the resume where the candidate resides
(i.e., Windsor, Toronto). Managers prefer the Windsor area.
- Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Chemical or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
- 3-5 years of engineering experience in product development design and release with a minimum of 2 years of powertrain experience
- Competent in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT)
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Excellent work ethic, organization skills, and communication skills

Years of DRE experience in which 2 years working on the torque
transfer system would be the minimum requirements in my opinion for
the TTS DRE requisition, also background in the following would be
also preferred:
- Gears, Shafts, and Splines experience
- Gear sizing
- MASTA, Kisssoft, and LDP software experience
- Gear geometry optimization experience
- Gear manufacturing experience
Requirements
Master's degree in an engineering related field
- Working knowledge of NX/Teamcenter
- Design for Six Sigma certification
